The fetal abdomen
4:40 PM - 5:15 PMPresentation Synopsis / Abstract
The fetal abdomen presents a special challenge to sonographers. There can be overlapping appearances of fetal chest masses and abdominal anomalies such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia. The latter requires careful evaluation of the fetal stomach, liver position, vasculature and appearance. Fetal bowel anomalies also require evaluation of the fetal cord insertion, bowel brightness, position and size of bowel including the number of "bubbles" visible. This workshop will demonstrate how to measure the fetal liver and and evaluate the bowel from stomach to anus.
