Breathless and brilliant: Applications of PoCUS in action

Presentation Synopsis / Abstract

Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is growing rapidly and has been adopted by many health professions. POCUS is defined as a clinically focused scan performed by the physician at the bedside. It is intended to answer key clinical questions for immediate patient management and so is particularly valuable for acutely deteriorating or undifferentiated patients in critical care.

POCUS is distinct from comprehensive ultrasound performed by sonographers. There are several rapid assessment protocols that are used by critical care physicians. This interactive Masterclass will cover POCUS scan protocols including eFAST, LUNG and RUSH.
