Presentation Synopsis / Abstract

This live scanning demonstration will give attendees a practical, hands-on opportunity to use ultrasound in the assessment of paediatric inflammatory bowel disease. The session will cover key anatomical landmarks, typical sonographic presentations, and scanning protocols to support accurate evaluation of both the small and large bowel.

The presentation will also review the characteristic ultrasound findings associated with Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis and other forms of paediatric inflammatory bowel disease, helping build diagnostic confidence and accurate documentation.

Finally, the session will highlight the advantages of ultrasound in the paediatric population, including faster diagnosis of flare‑ups, confirmation of remission, improved patient experience, reduced wait times, and decreased reliance on sedation or general anesthesia for MR enterography.
