Neurons and noggins: Essential ultrasound views of the fetal cranium

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Presentation Synopsis / Abstract

Neurons and Noggins: Essential ultrasound Views of the Fetal Cranium.

This presentation and accompanying workshop are designed to strengthen both the technical precision and clinical confidence of sonographers in performing and interpreting fetal cranial imaging in a routine imaging.

The primary objective is to develop a systematic approach to acquiring the essential ultrasound views of the fetal brain, ensuring consistency, diagnostic accuracy and alignment with current obstetric imaging guidelines.

Particpants will engage in a blended learning experience combining concise theory with live scanning practice. The presentation component will reinforce key anatomical landmarks, standard plans and common pitalls in image acquisition. Emphasis will be placed on recognising normal developmental anatomy across gestation, as well as identifying early indicators of abnormality.

The live scanning component will provide hands on opportunities to apply these principles in real time. Participants will refine their ability to obtain high-quality diagnostic images while adapting to fetal position and maternal factors.

By the end of the session, attendees will be able to confidently acquire and evaluate essential cranial views, articulate key anatomical structures an apply a structured scanning protocol in clinical practice across the trimesters.
