Scanning half a heart **NEW VOICE**
4:10 PM - 4:30 PMPresentation Synopsis / Abstract
Patients with single-ventricle physiology represent a growing cohort within adult congenital heart disease clinics due to improved survival after staged palliation. Echocardiography remains the first-line imaging modality for surveillance, yet its interpretation differs substantially from conventional biventricular assessment.
This talk will outline a practical approach to echocardiographic assessment of patients with only “half a heart.” Key components include evaluation of ventricular systolic function, atrioventricular valve regurgitation, systemic outflow obstruction, and interrogation of the Fontan Procedure pathway.
The session will focus on practical imaging windows, Doppler interpretation in the setting of passive pulmonary circulation, and recognition of findings that should prompt further assessment with advanced imaging.

Little hearts big challenges: Navigating paediatric echocardiography with skill and sensitivity
5:00 PM - 5:10 PMPresentation Synopsis / Abstract
Paediatric echocardiography can be challenging. Not only can the anatomy be complex but often CHD is associated with chromosomal or syndromal anomalies. Consequently, undergoing an imaging examination in a darkened room can be scarry for children, even if they only have a murmur. Various techniques will be presented to improve patient compliance and subsequent image quality.
