Biography

Ms Karen Barton | Carlisle Health Karen is a highly experienced sonographer and tutor sonographer with 28 years of clinical practice spanning both public and private sectors. Throughout her career, she has developed a strong professional focus on sonographer education, supervision, and mentorship. Karen holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Professional Education and is a committed advocate for the development of teaching and learning frameworks within the profession. She is a member of the ASA Clinical Supervisors Special Interest Group (SIG), where she contributes to the advancement of supervisory practice and support for clinical educators. Her work is underpinned by a passion for fostering professional growth and maintaining high standards of clinical education in sonography.

Biography

Ms Danielle Bowles | Queensland Health Danielle Bowles is a clinical Sonographer and educator and holds the position of Ultrasound Clinical Educator for Metro South Hospital and Health Service at Queensland Health as well as a senior sonographer position at Qscan Radiology Clinics. She is an Associate Fellow of the Australasian Sonographers Association and is a Clinical Fellow of Queensland University of Technology. She holds a Masters degree in Medical Ultrasound and a Grad. Cert in Adult and Tertiary education. She is passionate about supporting future sonographers and encouraging them to clinical excellence.

Biography

Ms Deanne Chester | CQUniversity Deanne is a sonographer with over 20 years' experience and has been a tutor sonographer for much of her career. A passion for sonographer education saw her join CQUniversity over 10 years ago, where she is Head of Course, Medical Sonography. She is still a working sonographer, with I-MED in Brisbane North. Dee has been a long-time volunteer, including as a previous member of the ASA Board. Current positions include peer reviewer for journals including Sonography the journal of ASA, ASAR Course Accreditation Committee and Course Provider Advisory Committee, RAB mentor, and invited speaker to various events. She is a founding committee member of the ASA Clinical Supervisors Special Interest Group and hopes to encourage more sonographers to enjoy the experience and personal rewards that come with training the next generation of sonographers and seeing them succeed.

Biography

Mrs Angela Farley | Adelaide University Angela has worked within the medical imaging industry for over 20 years as a Radiographer and a Sonographer. Working as a Tutor Sonographer for the past 9 years, has given her the opportunity to work with and develop many trainees throughout Australia. She also works as an academic at the Adelaide University. Here she is the course coordinator for several courses within the Medical Sonography Program. Angela has presented at previous ASA conferences and was part of the organising committee for the 2025 Melbourne ASA conference. Angela is currently completing a Masters by Research with the University of South Australia. The project focuses on the structure and function of Australian jockey hearts using echocardiography and is the first of its kind in the world. She is also a member elected board member of the Australian Sonography Accreditation Registry and is the Chair of the Registry's Continuing Professional Development Sub-committee.
