Enhancing the patient experience
3:00 PM - 3:50 PMAbstract
In healthcare, the patient experience is fundamental to the care we provide, but it can sometimes be lost amidst the demands of daily responsibilities. Enhancing the patient experience involves not only improving clinical outcomes but also fostering trust, communication, and compassion.
This session is designed for sonographers seeking to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes through exploring strategies for understanding patient needs and the consent process, effective communication techniques, the importance of transparent communication, and creating a comfortable environment during examinations. Technology and how it can enhance the patient journey and methods for measuring and improving patient satisfaction will also be discussed. Improving all aspects of the patient’s experience ensures that care is not just effective, but also empathetic, personalised and truly patient-centered.

Sonographers are working in a challenging environment, where their role in the healthcare field is becoming increasingly important due to high patient demand, shortages in the workplace, and expanding protocols. They are concerned about workplace injuries, training and education standards, regulation, consent, communication needs, Artificial Intelligence, and the corporatisation of primary healthcare.
Join the discussion at the ASA Arena as we explore the challenges faced by modern sonographers and tackle the critical issues they encounter in their profession.
