Exploring cranial vault pathology in paediatric ultrasound
9:20 AM - 9:40 AMAbstract
This presentation will discuss how cranial vault ultrasound can support cross sectional imaging by being used as an initial screening tool to assess the infant and paediatric skull and guide further investigation when needed. Ultrasound can be valuable in evaluating the cranial sutures and overlying soft tissue making it a useful tool for diagnosing conditions such as craniosynostosis, haematomas, skull fractures, and other miscellaneous lumps and bumps.
This presentation will provide an overview of cranial vault anatomy, highlight common cranial vault pathologies detectable on ultrasound, and outline ultrasound scanning techniques.
